We’re excited to announce the opening of our newest addition at Castle Wild Camp - the Hideaway cabin. Tucked into its own woodland spot, the Hideaway is a simple, off-grid retreat designed for those who want to step away from the rush of daily life and fully immerse themselves in nature.
A Space to Switch Off
The Hideaway is intentionally simple. There’s no Wi-Fi, no TV, and no distractions - just the essentials for a comfortable stay. It’s a place for slowing down: waking up to birdsong, relaxing in a hammock and reading in the dappled light of the trees, and watching the stars at night.
Surrounded by Wildlife
Positioned to make the most of the site’s wild character, the Hideaway offers a front-row seat to the wildlife of Castle Wild Camp. Depending on the season, you might spot barn owls hunting over the meadow, deer moving quietly through the woods, and you will certainly hear the chorus of songbirds at dawn. At night, the area is alive with the calls of tawny owls and the rustle of hedgehogs in the undergrowth.
Part of Our Rewilding Story
Like the rest of Castle Wild Camp, the area around the Hideaway is managed for wildlife first. The cabin is nestled in our wild woodland, where insects, birds, and mammals thrive. Staying here means sharing the space with nature - not just looking at it from a distance.
For Those Who Want a Different Kind of Break
The Hideaway is for anyone looking for a true escape: writers seeking quiet, couples wanting a peaceful weekend, or nature-lovers who want to spend time in a living, breathing wild landscape. It’s not luxury in the conventional sense — but it offers something rarer: time, stillness, and connection to the natural world.
Bookings for the Hideaway are now open, and we can’t wait to welcome our first guests to experience this unique, simple space.
